Show Me

I crack and I peel
like lead laced walls
I'm a haphazard so please
keep your distant
I contain many flaws
I fear no one will love me
maybe I'm a lost cause
people keep coming and going
like a bunch of rotating glass doors
we all have sores that will never heal
and I'm not talking about the STD kind
I'm talking about the wounds
that prevent you from really feeling
see I'm afraid I'll never fall in love
I'd rather lie in the tub and let
the bubbles tickle as they rise on up
I know that might be a little graphic
but it's the truth. Show me the proof.
So I can stop treating love like a spoof.

It's sad to feel that you are so flawed you will never find love. That feeling will change. I know it's hard to put the wounds behind you, but sometimes that's the only way to succeed. We all feel vulnerable when it comes to falling in love. Beautiful, heartfelt writing, Shahana! Love, Carolyn
