Shout Heard Around the World
Thousands of red uvulas
Invade my sight
A deep guttural plight
From day to night
A non stop howl
Of shrapnel in flight
A settling of scores
Orchestrated by madness
Marches upon inert eyes
Eyes stinging of salt and blood
Eyes ripped of lids
Forced to witness
The revolving chambers of death
Open assaults on reason
Have invaded like a virus
On a nation paralyzed by statute
Our "thoughts and prayers" have fallen
Like leaves from a dead tree
No more springs
Only eternal winters
Remain in memory
We wail with rehearsed pain
We give amnesty to Death
We have failed Life
