Should Have Met You Earlier

Falling in love with you is like falling in love with me
You are everything I always wanted my man to be
Why did it take so many years for me to find you
I hate the different experiences I have been through
You could have saved me from the pain and the heartaches
With your love you could have saved me the many heartbreaks 
I was searching from person to person trying to stay patient
I wasted years on one person and not sure what that meant
I could have used all that time loving you much deeper
Instead of hoping to catch love like a wide receiver
We're two different individuals so you wouldn't have found me
We're from two different generations, cultures and country
It would have been so perfect to have met you as a child
Learning love together while our imaginations run wild
I know that's hard to imagine because your much older than me
We should have met each other earlier because we were meant to be
Imagine if the both of us were in love as teens
You would have been my prom date and my everything
We're so connected and we would have stayed together
If we would've met earlier things would have been much better
You and I would have been deeper than high school sweethearts
We would have shown the world that soul mates never part.
