Shots in the Dark
The stars shoot straight, no curve balls, they light us up,
we feel the silver bullets ricocheting inside our eyes,
even when they are closed.
There's is no such thing as low caliber starlight,
they are, a million light year-old shockwave.
When that distant, shot in the dark, hits you,
you will know, big picture-wise,
that according to the long arm of the Universe,
we may only be collateral damage,
too insignificant to be bullseye's, or
magnificent targets, so well worth shooting at.
