Shopping With My Daughter Today
I will shop with my eldest daughter today
Needing shoes that are not sandals, hooray!
We will not go until the break of the new day.
Meeting at nine, at a store far away.
I smile as I see her coming my way.
Remembering her at ten when we lived by the bay.
She would crawl out of the backseat of the car
Each and every fine school day
Not wanting me to meet her friends Bobbie or Fay
And of course never introducing me to her buddy big Jay
Afraid they would make me a bestie; what can I say?
I had the same problem with my own mom, back in the day.
