Shooting the Breeze

It's windy out there, and our old garden chair
just went flying across the veranda
it flew over the wall with a bag and a ball
and lodged in the old jacaranda.

then out in the street you can't keep your feet
it blows you all over the place
I turned round to see something heading for me
and got an old boot in my face

so I'm going inside, to drink tea and hide
till the wind has gone into recess
then when it's all done, and we see the sun
I can go out and clean up the mess
