Vast dome of night sky,
Spark slices through dark, fleeting—
Desert awash in light.
In silence, ancient secrets,
Shadows yield to the bright dance.

Don, I can see it happening exactly as you describe it. If bright enough, it does resemble a brief flare. Many years back I spent time just observing the night sky for shooting stars. They are such a treat since each one has its own path and color. And it also tells us that space is not entirely empty. Now we can see Iridium satellite flares that are predicted. Have you seen any of those?

Duke, Great observations! Thank you. Life: the ultimate shooting star! My former quantum physics professor Amit Goswami says the universe is alive and self-aware. Don
