Shooting Star
A falling star; a streak of light across the sky.
A comet of blue and white flying by.
Up or down, right or left, north or south, east or west.
I don’t know which way you came, I don’t know which is best.
Your smile makes my heart skip a beat.
Your touch makes me lose my feet.
Balance isn’t something I need with you,
Because I know you will catch me if I fall through.
Your eyes shine in the light,
Your laugh makes me wish I was that bright.
The glare of your glasses in a picture is adorable.
I always believe you because you’re so reliable.
Trust, faith, respect, honesty. All things that make love.
But when one is taken, away flies the dove.
Forgiveness brings it back,
And sends the darkness to pack.
If I could go back
And change one thing about our pace,
I would meet you sooner
Instead of waiting for so long to find my place.
You are my shooting star.
I am your night sky.
We will always find each other
Even after we say goodbye.
