Shock Wave
Something that's seemingly so
unprofound,
Like a distance divided by time,
Is becoming a barrier that has me
unbound,
As I leave it trailing behind...
Once I am able to get enough speed,
Increasing and gaining momentum,
The physics that own me cannot
superceed,
Or re-write the laws with intention...
Breaking the crest the distance seems less,
At a point that becomes my horizon,
Traveling just to reach the egress,
Of a spot I'm keeping my eyes on ...
I slowly surpass what's ahead so its last,
Leaving sound so I can announce it,
But when you ask I'll already have passed,
By the time it takes to pronouce it...
Then slowly. I turn and notice the burn,
Of a shockwave trying to match me,
That's when I learn to stop and discern,
What I say before it can catch me ...
