Shirley, My Any Cup Friend

Interest rates over the ream
can't borrow out of debt, it seems
bad marriage levelled, inch by inch
now single Mom still feels the pinch!

It's all the same ~ we're in a fix
a category, government switch
to be or not to be, they'll ditch
the woman's taxes in a glitch!

She'll drop by soon ~ we'll share some tea
just grab a cup ~ what's up, let's see
her wages cut, no jobs to be
the countries struggling, now it's me!

The bigger issues we'll discuss
no peons here, no mucky muck,
our little treasures we'll line up
a kitty birth, or family stuff!

She'll help herself, bring goodies in
I never have to ask again
I'm on her mind, she's in my heart
my any cup friend, with courage . . . smart!
