Shipwreck

Soles should wear cuts of brokenness From steps taken back But moulds do not hold shape Granules part to save. Salvage what's left of the wreck No, the oasis did not drown it all Or maybe the waves were held back By an unwillingness to move forth. The shore, harbours the unsure Thinking tomorrow will be a better day Toes touching salt, retreating away Shallow waters too deep, for he who can not swim. A shameful escape actioned Desperation let veneers sink, consideration removed A life jacket in hand, eyes never turning back Only to be punctured, by a choice to conclude. Despair, do not doubt Overcame every fibre before gratitude Appreciated another chance at buoyancy Though not enough to keep, from the ruins.
