twelve years, old friend, I was always here they've all sailed away, I’m always here, and it's your turn now, it's your turn, remembrance is regret, so willing to forget, all that could have been, if you had only asked, little girl, teary eyes, surfacing silent cries, hell's hands do not hold, here, you belong, there is fellowship, look after her, I will, the least, I do, for her, for you, return, until you return

Excellent use of words to both create a mood and bury its import within layers of meaning. Great write.

Thank you Lawrence. This is one of my oldest surviving pieces and is actually the lyrics to a song I wrote. At that time I was very much striving for encapsulating the most with the fewest words so it's cool that you've picked up on that very well.
