Shine Your Light
I sit and I spit words from my pen to this pad
as if all of my words are all I've ever had
I don't rap, I don't sing, but I sure do think often
and my thoughts are one thing I can take with me to the coffin
I think of the hate and disgraced we choose to diplay
you see it in every eye, all of the shame and the dismay
but why shine a light on whats dragging you down?
we choose to follow blindly and now we are the clown
shine a light on a better day
in a better future, in a better way
in a better place where we all can stay
a better world where our kids can play
without the fear they'll be taken away
that's where I choose to shine my ray
