Shikata ga nai meaning - it can't be helped
Based on the quote - "Be the change you want to see in the world."

“What the heart can’t speak of, poetry does.” Quote- Poets own I wish I were the who I used to be Before I began with anxiety So much has happened to stir fear and dread That stops me sleeping peacefully abed. Once I was as joyful as one could be Till worry came and stayed inside of me I smile through each day, so one wouldn’t detect How my heart is lurching beneath my chest. Worry o'er my loved one, being the curse Without whom I could not live life on earth So much has happened health-wise through our lives Each time I pray, please God let him survive. I observe others have their tough times too And I pray for God to bless those who do I still believe in power of prayer In the Shepherd’s guidance that's always there. “It can’t be helped” to myself this I say Knowing the sun will shine on me some day Over the rainbow my raged heart will leap The day that I feel my life is complete. Writing poetry is therapeutic It’s one of the reasons that I do it Focusing on something that pleases me May provide me the change I want to see.

Quite an emotional write Beryl, sadly as we get older our health deteriorates causing us worry and anxiety. We just have to live each day as it comes. Best of luck in the contest. Tom

Dear Beryl, My heart goes out to you my dear friend that you will always find that peace. You have said so well that poetry becomes cathartic and helps so much with the anxiety and stress of life. I know our God is the great peacemaker and I seek him out in my stress. I love to play my guitar for it is my instrument of self-care. I pray that God Blesses You! Autumn Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Dear Daniel, thank you for your comforting words, yes writing poetry does help me through the worry on dark days, had my husband in hospital again, two weeks ago he came home and is slowly recovering. As we are getting older, when these incidents occur they drag me down more and more , it’s the thought of losing him. I understand that everyone has their own problems to deal with and I pray for others too. Good to read that you play your guitar, music is soothing and I find it a help also. Seasonal blessings to you too, soon the winter will be here bringing with it that glorious Christmas cheer… Poet pal Beryl

Beryl l can relate to your words big time. I understand your poem completely. Over my life time l have suffered with anxiety especially when l have lost loved ones including my dog….l don’t handle loss or grief at all well and l withdraw. This poem really spoke to me with its realness, vulnerability and honesty Beryl! Debx

Dear Deb, thank you for understanding what I’m going through. I too have had bad times in life, truth is I was never strong enough to stand up for myself, especially when someone was really nasty to me for years, yet it was me who helped that person till the end of their days… Beryl x

Dear Beryl same here, I write to heal and to release all that which we cant speak otherwise, this poem feels like one that is so very sincere and has a soulful touch. So much has changed for so many, anxiety and more, especially whether mental health or physical health, when we go through health issues , we tend to look back and think, of how things were before all that, you write always in such eloquence and this poem truly is worthy of all the accolades! Pleasure reading you. Sending you light always
