She's a Free Woman
She's a free woman.
And how engage a free woman?
Freely, for any man
Free to leave her
Is free to love her.
I imagined short her
With tall him when he and I met
We shook hands and smiled – this
Musician-lover. Did he know yet
That I know?
I wondered if he'd loved her
As I did, and wondered who she'd been
When she loved him then -
Who she was?
And I wondered
As she freely so freely
Landed here and then there
A gust one way after another:
How engage a free butterfly.
Should I care? Should I try?
