Shell of a Father
Why must you make her weep?
Why must you be a sloth?
Why must you be a disgrace?
Why must you be a poison?
You may have helped give life
But do you show real love?
Do you truly value family?
Or do you just put on an act?
The precious memories created
The good and the bad
The times you were there
When I came to advice.
There may have been the good times
But behind the curtains lies the sinister
The ugly truth thats been shrouded
Until the light pierces through the shadows.
The love you gave to her
Was nothing, but an act
A false marriage you gave her
Robbed her of a Happily Ever After.
Sloth of a man
That is what you are
You may show love
But do you know
What true love
Really is, father?
I may love you
As any child would
But my heart breaks
To see mother cry.
The example that you show
Isn't a lesson to be learned
It is tainted and despicable
Laziness and apathetic
It's just pathetic.
Your a disgrace
Your a waste of space
Your heartless
Your lazy
Your horrible
Your nothing.
How can I look at you
Straight in the eyes
If you treat mother
To take the load
While you half it
Never seeing it through.
Do you see your family
As a burden to you?
Why must you vanish
For two hours a day
Morning, Noon and Night
Just where do you go?
Your a poison to the family tree
Seeping into its roots
To kill us all from the inside
With your slothiness and lack of morals.
How can I proudly call you dad
If I see mother crying in despair
From the pain and isolation
That you give her everyday.
How can I trust you
Should anything happen
That you'll know what to do
Come time in the future
When faced with a crisis?
I don't know if its your personality
Your brain going on the fritz
Succumbing to Dementia or alzheimer's
But your too afraid to admit
That your losing yourself.
What kind of human being
Can you be who lacks emotion?
Who doesn't know the meaning
Of partnership or family
Nor what true love is?
Just what kind of man are you?
Who only sees housework and teamwork
As some big chore that disrupts your day?
Family is all about teamwork.
So if you want to lay in bed
All day long after driving a bus
From morning to noon with weird hours
Doing half the chores around the house
Rewatching your old shows on loop
Like you were stuck in a time capsule.
Then go ahead
Sleeping all day
Is almost like being half dead
Because you don't feel alive
Your just a hollow shell of a man
Half dead that walks amongst the living.
