She'Ll Never Be Me

I LISTEN as your music
Sings in my ears.
My heart beats too fast
As my hopes turn to fears.
She seems to fulfill
All your dreams.
She seems to fulfill
All your needs.
The sad thing is
You never asked me
For a thing.
You never even gave
Me a chance to try.
And now i want to
Lay down and cry.
And say goodbye.
I wish I could stop trying
To predict your next move.
I wish I could stop
Thinking about you.
I wish I could just
Walk away.
And let her take my place.
You deserve her, and all her
Childish ways.
You don't deserve the woman
I've grown to be.
She'll never be the same as me.
Maybe you simply need less.
You'll never see the sides of me
I've kept hidden.
Though you'll be trapped by
The sides of her she hides.
And some day you'll be looking
At me in your cozy little cage
Wondering why you didn't
Push for the best.
Or at least give me
Half a chance.. at least a try...
So now all I can say is
Good bye.
And walk away proudly...
For at least I TRIED...
