She plays the piano at our local church
She was a first teacher who I did perch
She prays for me when I need a prayer
She talks to me like she truly does care
This teacher that I speak of so kindly
Is a loving guide who shines brightly
Sent to me from God’s own heaven
Filling me with support when I was seven
She taught me more than paper and pen
And she trained me to learn more, then
More than the words of a simple book
She explained the meaning with a look
I will always be thankful and blessed
By this teacher whom I’m impressed
