Sheer Fear

I wore a smile on my face
my pulse began to really race
my knees trembled, my hands shook
I was petrified of that look
I tried to compose myself but the more I tried
The adrenaline that was pumping inside of me, I could not hide
His eyes bore down on me and I sensed his mood
I saw the gavel and I knew I was screwed.

I really like this poem, it is raw, intense, truthful and evokes emotion in me, for the reason that i can so easily relate to its concepts. The only suggestion i have would be to maybe change the first two lines to: "I wore a smile on my face my pulse began to race" for the reason that i think it helps it be read more smoothly. nonetheless thank you for sharing this poem i really liked it.
