SHEDDING SKIN
Can you hear me
Can you hear my skin
Every fiber in my body
Sayin' it again and again
...I'm not her
Can you feel me
My presence proclaiming
Those clothes reek
Of the agenda you are naming
...I'm not her
Can you smell me
The rancid fragrance emanating
The perfume you supplied
Displays the imitating
...I'm not her
Can you taste me
The plastic fruit in the basket
Hopping in the forest, with
A tisket a tasket
....I'm not her
Can you even SEE me
Standing straight, before eyes
Seeing without vision
The beauty of woven lies
...I'm not her
I'm me
Just plain ole me
Being all me
With all of my senses
...I'm her
