She Will

Catching dream dust from the air
She knew this was her moment
Her time to rise up
Her time to take a stand

The cover of darkness
That had plagued her life
In an instant it was gone
Never ever to return

As she stood in the suns rays
As it shined through the room
She knew her whole life's meaning
What exactly she had to do

She took all the shattered pieces
Picked them up off the floor
Ever so gently she placed them together
Until once again they were whole

Each piece represented a part of her soul
Each was a reminder to never get to close
As each one of them cut her, she bled out in red
A reminder to protect her heart from all of the pain

Knowing she would always be her only savior
She stood up so proudly
She stood up so fierce
When she stood up to face each person
For the very first time, she shed not one tear
