She Was Too Good For Him
she was his blind date
he was fearful she might be like the others
she was more than any of them had ever been
he watched her from the café window
knowing she was better than him
realizing she was a queen
knowing he was not a king
the rain made sense now
another disappointment
she was way too good for him
he nearly left,
but his grandmother’s whisper made him stay
give her a chance, she said
let her show you her goodness
he was amazed by her beauty
and her lovely personality
totally in love now
almost too bowled over to speak
she took this as a sign of strength
he reminded her of her father
they had more dates
less grayscale, more colorful
she was his everything
he was in love
