She Was The One

Collaboration between Jack Horne and Sara Kendrick

She was the one, the only one he loved with all his heart, but she would never marry him and said that they must part. She was married and bound by law It hurt each time they met Each shell she picked up on the beach Sang songs of deep regret He said his love for her was real; another wouldn't do - but even then, she'd told him that alas, their love was through. Her spouse suddenly passed away On the white beach she stood, Awaiting her romantic love Whom she knew to be good And so the poet married her; they had a happy life. He thanked his lucky stars each day that she was now his wife.

Sara, it's interesting that she had honor and would not leave her husband. She and her poet admirer were very lucky in the end. Life usually doesn't work out this way, but it could. I wonder, if I were the poet, would I want to hold on to that love or search for another compatible soul? Hard to know since our brains work in such strange ways!

Yes, most of the time the person goes on trying to make do with someone else, but there thoughts often to the love that he/she once had. Sometimes it does work out so that in the future they have a second chance at life together. Thanks, Duke for the visit. Sara K

Dear Jack and Sara, your wonderful collaboration tugs at the heartstrings! The wistful longing, deep regret, and ultimate joy are very touching. You create amazing scenes with an economy of words that lets the emotions shine through. From the singing seashells to the white beach reunion, this romantic narrative sweeps us away. A masterful melding of your talents! - Blessings, My Friends, Daniel

The right one for you will always be there they say. I'm glad they got to be happy in the end. But where was he before she got married in the first place? Cheers Sara.

Tonye, Your visit is so nice. I appreciate the honest review. It is totally imagination or fantasy. I can imagine being in love with someone who is inaccessible, but probably it is only one thing about that person that is alluring or the fact that they are inaccessible gives them allure. Thanks for the visit. Sara K
