'she Walked Away'
She walked away
Hurriedly,
Without looking back,
Not thinking about
What she will be leaving behind
Not thinking about
The creature comforts
No afterthought and no regrets
All she could think about
Was getting away,
As far as possible before
He gets back
To discover or uncover
Another reason why she needs
To be his punching bag
His reasons always valid
Though silly in her eyes
But to him, it gave him
A reason,
It gave him
The authority
To lift his hand
It gave him the right
To kick her
Abuse her verbally
Treat her like she was nothing
Until today,
Until she found out
About the baby
She had something else
To live for
Dying was no longer a
Priority….

*Ps: a work of fiction,
but a subject that is
pretty close to my heart,
having worked with abused
women*
