She Told Me Her Life Story

All judged her.
Even those of us who thought we weren’t.
I was one.

One night we both had to wait for an hour for a bus.
Because it had broken down.
She told me her life story.

It was worse than I had ever imagined.
Suddenly I understood her for the first time.
I championed her after that.

I understood her for the first time. I championed her after that/// the true understanding brings respect and triumph for others!

Usually how it happens! I didn’t get along years ago with a coworker. She was difficult. Turns out her dad raised her, lost her mother at 9 years old, had painful endometriosis. Doesn’t excuse her but does explain. In the end we got along pretty well.

I believe that when people get to know each other they usually find SOMETHING they like. I have always tried to help "so called" enemies find a common ground.
