She Thinks of Tonight
Her beauty matched by her serenity
She sits alone and waits - for who or what
She knows not - nor can she yet imagine.
Yesterday came and went and she loved not.
The exquisite braids in her hair invite
A lover's eyes to look closer - to smell,
To lose himself in a sensuous world,
One that her nightly dreams have known so well.
The lines of her slender neck lead upward
To display classic features envied by all.
She thinks not of tomorrow but of tonight -
Who will earn her love at the royal ball?
She sits alone and dreams of what might be
In only hours she'll change the course she's on.
He will be tall for she is tall and fair -
She can see that she will be loved come dawn.
No longer will she sit alone and dream,
She will arise and laugh, then she will dance.
This will be the night always remembered
As the night she awakened to romance.
