She Sees Me and Smiles
She's gone
She's free
No pain
Restrain
We never knew
from whence it came
as cruelly it crept
inside her brain
Watching her slowly fade away
It truly broke my heart
every minute
of every hour
of every single day
this evil disease was taking a hold
unable to walk
unable to talk
so sad to see
when she did not know me
My dearest Sis
would sometimes return
to brighten up my day
Was it
something I said
Was it
something I read
A song maybe
brings her back to me
What joy to see her smile again
and her sparkling blue eyes
knowing deep down inside
She is there all the while
She sees me and smiles
This disease I truly despise
~~~
Sadly just a week ago
My dearest Sis
‘twas time to go
Now free is she
No pain
Restrain
Her dear sweet soul
soars up above
My tears they flow
'twas her time to go
Sis I want you to know
That I love you so
My sweetest friend
beat Alzheimer’s in the end
