She Said Yes

She said yes
When I went down on my knees
We were under beautiful trees
On the other side a sea and its breeze
I put my finger in my pocket
I took out a diamond ring
I heard the birds starting to sing
I looked in her eyes
I saw tears falling
I looked in the skies
I saw drops of rain coming
I held her hand and smiled
She held mine tight and cried
With my face unmasked
I asked;
Will you make me the happiest man on earth?
Will you make me a man amongst men?
May I spend the rest of my life with thee,
love, care and cheerish thee?
My love, will you marry me?
There was a long silence
Just as I was starting to lose my patience,
giving up
and from the ground rising up
She said yes, yes, yes.
