She Rolls Her Eyes

She rolls her eyes at me every time she speaks.
I am amazed but not shocked at her lack of respect
For I have seen her browbeat her mother
She is ten.

Our children are full adults but theirs are, to my mind, a little disrespectful, this is the so called "modern way". Not for this lad. Nice write and to the point. God Bless. D.

It is difficult for me. I am considered "old school" because I expect children to respect adults who respect them, not the other ones maybe, but the ones who deserve it.

I am an elementary school counselor. I have explained to this child over and over how "popping her eyes" is disrespectful. Unfortunately, she has gotten into a habit of it, and her mother thinks it is cute, which it might have been when she was five.
