She Looked Like

She Looked Like… A Christmas tree Decorated all over With appendages! A scarf round her neck To keep out the chills A mask on her face To keep the virus Out of her place Her internal workings Needing protection And glasses… So she could see her way To those essential shops Where a smile might greet her And take away… The weight of her meagre shop Later and returned home Her hat removed The dangly earrings Came into view Nodding a cheery hello This noticed by herself alone She lived in isolation And far from her old home Where she had raised her family She would see them again soon

Sad reality of life. You raise your family who fly off to pastures new, leaving the house empty to time.

I like this very much , a portrait of the many unseen, and sufferers of isolation. Great writing, and description.
