She Is Not the Same

I look away quickly not able to bear the look I never wanted to see in my sister’s eyes The pain is deep, it is a wounded look She has been isolated for a long time Her abuser has her hand He is monopolizing the conversation Barely allowing her people access She is not the same May never be I want to squirrel her away To find out why she has such sad eyes
