She Is Not the Same

I look away quickly
not able to bear the look
I never wanted to see in my sister’s eyes

The pain is deep,
it is a wounded look
She has been isolated for a long time

Her abuser has her hand
He is monopolizing the conversation
Barely allowing her people access

She is not the same
May never be
I want to squirrel her away

To find out why
she has such sad eyes

Sad, painful, I have a friend who endured this. Well penned.

Is this your sister? True? Everybody needs to be loved.

My spiritual SISTERS - all abused women, not my actual sister. (But once upon a time it was).

Very sad. But we can only help people if they accept help. Best of luck, Kai

That is the absolute truth, and the abuser always isolates his/her victim.
