She Is Not

She is not the girl I can't live without.
She is not the one
who burns my heart with the fire of
One thousand suns.
She is not the pinnacle of my whole existence.
She is not the reason that I seek recompense.
She is not the only one I could ever love,
And I fear she is not always more than enough.

What she is, is someone who can hear me,
Someone who doesn't fear me.
She is someone who understands
The aches and breaks that make a man.
She is someone I can talk with,
A like mind, and I've lost it.
She is someone I regret,
But am still glad that I met.
