Humans are the only species who walk upright all the time. Humans who are hunched over, I believe, are protecting their most tender place (their stomach) from hurt, while those pushing their shoulders back and their stomach out are super confident. I believe women who do this are mega super in control of themselves, and care for others.

It’s all just so much for me to take in,
When she feels all there is to be felt,
All of the happy, confused to the sad,
Feeling all she has ever been dealt,

Still she holds her chest high, exposing her tender,
Fragile, soft belly to all,
Proudly exposing her weakness to everyone here,
Not hiding behind a black shawl,

And her public status is love, her position is love,
Love is all people will see,
Not a job, not a race, nor a business or post,
Her only assignment is free,

To cradle the calm, embrace all the fear,
Hug all the worry and pain,
And mix it with a peaceful energy of hope,
Then sprinkle emotional rain.

There have been many times in my life when I have been this female, times when I've needed this female and times when I've been nurtured by her. I don't understand why there are no comments because I know others found this touching and related. Soup seems anemic lately in regard to comments. To me, the sentiment in your poem shines in glowing rays. Poetry hugs ... CayCay
