She Is a Snake
She slithers up to me
but I take a step back, carefully, gingerly
It’s not that she is not affectionate,
because you would think that if you saw
The way she wants to get close.
I have watched her in action before.
I know when she sidles up, she wants something.
Seriously?
Have I ever looked more serious?
She has a forked tongue but who am I to ruin the surprise?
I am sure she has qualities that would enhance and excite
Qualities that would uplift you at least momentarily,
however, in my own experience, she is seductive, sneaky, sassy
and seriously potentially poisonous.
You do not have to take my word for it.
Go speak to the carcasses in the corner.
