She Is!

When all that is quiet has fallen upon us
She rests herself to
What we know as dusk
Resting her shapely star
That exists from a far
A source of light and vitality
Brought our way with no formality
When she closes her light
We then feel lethargy right
Without her presents we could not survive
Her surface temperature keeps us alive
Suspended in space 1.4 million km across
She shines on the opposite side with gloss
She turns every 25 days
Bringing us her heat and praise
She is a nuclear fusion
So there is no illusion
She is the largest object in our
Solar system
A glorious part of the ecosystem
The Greeks called her Helios
I say she is our hero
We intend to be
A worshiper of thee
She is
The sun
