She Feels Shame

Bubbling over with enthusiasm She feels shame And stops herself Oozing with excitement She begins to shriek But her mouth will not open Eager to please She has squelched her soul So often that her mother is concerned No one understand that the smothering Was her mother’s doing all along Including her mother
