She Doesn'T Need a Man

She doesn't need a man, she's strong enough to do it alone But I want to get to know her, build her up, if she's feeling low I want to encourage her, and maybe build a home But because her ex hurt her, she'd rather be alone I want to get to know her, but she's independent and able to survive alone She shuts guys down before they even get the chance to speak She's been hurt before, so now all of her feelings are gone I just want to be the bandage for when she bleeds She's focused on herself which isn't a bad thing I just wish I could give her something real and prove she's worth more than a fling Her heart is guarded and I understand that with all due respect But I don't need to see her topless to see her Chest I'm in a similar frame of mind, which is why I think we'd go well together I'm not Shawn Mendes but I know I can treat you better I know you're scared, and you won't allow Anyone to help you fight your fears But if you give me a chance, then I'll wipe your tears I understand why you don't Want to get close I see the strength you have, all of it is known I know you don't need a man, And you can cope But I want to get right, everything they got wrong
