She Broke the Chains and Danced Away

He thought he was her everything
Pretending to be a savior
When the only saving she needed
was from him

His masks were many
She was fooled for awhile
His charismatic charm was mesmerizing
until she understood

It was the chase he liked
Once caught, he became brutally mean
Small and petty, a secret man
Showing this face to no other

She broke the chain of affection
and danced away
before he could damage her psyche
the way he had damaged four others

You know, there's just too many men like this out there, and they prey on innocent, inexperienced, naive women who think they are God's gift. Thanks for writing this as it may help a reader.
