She Became Woman
She walked in sure modest steps.
She spoke in polite humble words.
She dressed in easy gentle robes.
She ate in proud careful scoops.
She wrote in clear crisp verses.
She heard in purposeful attentive manner.
She saw in broad beautiful vantage.
She worked in directed diligent ways.
She dreamt in joyful open colors.
She sang in arresting melodious notes.
She danced in flamboyant graceful panache.
She stood in stately dignified poise.
She felt in caring sympathetic throbs.
She prayed in meek reverent prostration.
She had fallen in love.
And she became woman.
