She

She basks in sunlight at the open window, casting elongated shadows upon the floor, as she tempts the local men to glance. Contemplating the new day and its outcome, she dresses appropriately, but seductively, hoping to catch the eye of any willing man. Her name, it is of no importance in her world, no intention to perpetuate a relationship, but to initiate and cast away as many before. Though, obviously bathing in riches, she is of the poorest. She is lonely in heart. She knows what she wants, but discards what she needs. She is like many, not seeing the road that lies before. She only anticipates tomorrow and her new lovers. She walks among us, but we really don’t see her.
