Shattered Pieces

It was like a knife to my heart when you said didn’t love me
I was so confused and so hurt
I thought I found the one but I guess I was wrong
When you said those words my guard went back up
I realized you didn’t want to be here
So why didn’t you just leave?
Why continue to confuse me?
You didn’t want me anymore but you still wanted to see what you could get from me
My heart broke into shattered pieces when I realized you just was around me
Only to use me until you found the woman of your dreams
Even if you don’t have respect for me
I have respect for me
I want you to leave me alone please
Yes you broke my heart but I’m putting my pieces back together one by one
I’m loving myself more as the days go by
How does it feel to be waiting for my response but all you get is silence?
I did want you
I thought I would spend the rest of my life with you but hey sometimes life isn’t fair
I’m living my life and doing the work to grow in my career
I won’t allow you to waste any more of my time
My love is worth a million dimes
Someone will take care of the repaired heart that you broke
I am not in denial anymore
Find the woman of your dreams
Do whatever you want but stay away from me
