Shattered Heart

In the purplish dark night,
Stars twinkling and gleaming
With the rhythmic randomness...
In the soft breeze and velvety chill
Shivered the frail shrubs
and tiny buds in their sleep...
Romancing the clouds and stars,
Was the moon with his
Irresistible and unignorable glow...
The lake's rustle and ripple
Breaking the silence of the night
So dark, though inviting and tranquil...
There was I, absorbing it all
Trying to forget my loneliness
That made my tears run,
Rolling down like pearls
Deserted by their beloved shell..
Heavy and hurt, there I stood
Recollecting the times when
it was different and beautiful
But now it was just a memory
Like a fragrance left just to feel
Of a flower long withered...
All I had now was just me and.. my shattered heart

Beautifully written Shilpa. Love the imagery within your words and the last line is fabulous. May your shattered heart soon be mended : ) #7
