Shattered Glass
My heart is broken as I crawl to you
I have become simply a pile of shattered glass
My eyes turn into a sea of blue
Only in time will the pain pass
I am falling
I need you there to catch me
A cry of help, I am calling
I am calling for a chance to break free
I try to make it through the lies
I try to leave it all behind
But nothing can be hidden behind these suffering eyes
Surely, I must be blind
After every hit I take
I still forgive, but I refuse to forget
The memories only make my mind ache
I haven’t let go yet
And when I stop to think about it
The shattered glass breaks more and more
Because of him, my wrists have become slates to slit
“I’ll never hurt you,” he swore
