Shattered Dust

I am over you
in all the big ways
that is for sure
I am over you
in all the small ways too
if you don’t count
going to my knees
with each moment
…that I breathe

all of me
my life turned around
over and over
by you
and your lies
how could
so much of me
mean so little
…to you

it is not enough
excuses seeking forgiveness
for the unforgiveable
what I have always
held to be true
betrayed my very soul
my trust in me
shattered to dust
…trust who now

FYI of anyone who reads my work....most is all based on fictional characters and/or events. I think if I had lived out the roller coaster curves of my poems I would be in constant therapy. My life has taken some hits, to be sure. But, I pride myself on being able to write from a perspective that captures the reader with the feeling I am writing to and about them and their lives. It was when I learned how to write in that style that (I think) my poetry actually started to become stronger work.
