Sharing Refuge From the Storm

Sharing refuge from the storm

When misfortune looms, woven with threat
We took refuge from the rain of regret
Covered with your verbal oilskins
Cloaked against the world’s sins
Together we kept warm
When all around us raged a storm
A snug coat for the chill night
Armour to protect against the black knight
