Shantelle

Mellifluous in name alone For no euphonic mellow tone Resides in Shantelle's heart of stone. A fool, I thought we felt the same But all too soon she quenched the flame For love was but a callous game. A stepping stone in life was I She crushed my heart then passed on by; Her name will haunt me till I die. Shantelle. 10.03.20 Shantelle poetry contest sponsored by Julia Ward contest specification - mention 'stone' at least twice in the poem.

Your chosen three line verse form works perfectly in this elegant little bitter-sweet poem, Wendy. I love it, and it should be a winner.
