Shame To Resent

Fame and fortune
I would compromise
If I never again had the chance
To see the glow in your eyes.
Butterflies...
You used to give you
Whenever I came around
Now there's darkness in the distance
Where we used to share a common ground.
Frowns turned up-side-down
So astound by the pictorial dictionary
I stand categorized in.
Then again, I'm squandered
In a field of dreams
Insanity is the name
Shame gave way
To the opaque vision you presented--
Resented by a girl that never knew me
Just when I thought she was officially mine.
