Shame
shame to those who allow dragging
seven hundred men and women, children
now wandering in the streets, Mississippi
children and mothers crying,
mass raids, years of jobs gone,
years of friends and neighbors’ hello's and help
days after a massacre towards the other
a mere 40 miles from where I live
even with a rare cancer and fatigue
my deepest feelings are sadness and shame
where is my country’s declaration of hope
it’s declaration of decently
now there is only shame
I pray that very soon
we all fight for change
