Shallow Ripples
As i sit here peacefully, In the warming glow
Feeling safe from the heat, of what seem's
to be the sun. then all too quickly, it begins to fade
I feel cold from the hours spent swimming,
swiming in the graying shadow's, of your memory
The shadows cover the valley's, you've carved deep
into my soul.
As i melt into the cold depth's of time,
i become weak and fraile
I begin to drown in the dark tides
The one's that roar from the deep reache's of my mind
I try, and I try, to see your face, the harder i try
The more i think ,the more i think, the less i remember
the less i remember, of you, the more it hurts
When it hurts, the more i begin too know
Your face is there , then it too , starts to melt
The more it melts the deeper, i drift.
I feel for your hand , but i can reach only nothing
Than finally, the pain of numbness comes
It rolls out in long waves, from the empty cold,
darkness of my torn mind
I see you become less and less, until finally,
you are no more, a shallow ripple in my mind .
