Shallow End

I don't think you comprehend, The pain you've caused me, yet you call me friend, How much longer would you like me to play the fool?, When the people around me say, "when your not here he makes fun of you," Then you look at me with tears in your eyes, and grab for my hand, You share your heart with me on so many levels, yet you still don't get it, man, Who is making the fool of himself right now?, Don't worry, I'll still love you anyhow, If I let you keep going, how will you see?, That that love means more than the image you want people to see, Because at the end of the day, I love myself enough to know, That when I share my heart with you it's not for show, I will never lose that part of me for any image sake, I don't want to live for the fear of what people think, I will live for the love God intended for me, And it doesn't have to match what you want me to be, That is selfishness to it's core, That is the fear the enemy uses to score, This is not the first time I've run into this, and it won't be the last, And every time I bump heads with it, it's the blessing in it I grasp, I still love you, and some say that's too deep, But that's where my heart swims, because the shallow end is defeat!
